General Information

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is the form that the federal government uses to determine your eligibility for federal aid. This aid can include grants, scholarships, work-study and loans.

Why should I complete the FAFSA?

Before the FAFSA

During the FAFSA

Checklist to Avoid Common FAFSA Errors

After the FAFSA

Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) carefully. SAR是证明联邦处理机构收到你的FAFSA的官方记录. If you find any errors on your SAR, you should correct your FAFSA online. Unresolved errors could impact your federal aid awards.
- Check if your SAR has been selected for verification. Look under the date (on the top right corner) for the letter's EFC, followed by a series of numbers.
